In Figure 44, the height of the flood waters are indicated by the debris line on the siding of the home. In this case the flood water remained at this height for over two days and had begun to deteriorate the siding.
In Figure 45, the damage was caused by flooding after Hurricane Katrina. Note the Silver colored vapor barrier which has been damaged. The vapor barrier in southern climates is located on the outside of the stud wall. In order to effect repairs in a workmanlike manner the brick veneer on the outside of the home should be removed to access this area.
